Walking tours
In our region, The “Untermosel”, there are numerous well laid out footpaths in different degrees of difficulty and lengths. Many valleys with sign-posted footpaths lead down to the Moselle. Guiding walking tours are possible. From Oberfell you can walk „the ough the ages“ (Weg der Zeitreise). Eltz castle (Burg Eltz), Pyrmont castle (Burg Pyrmont), the Ehrenburg or Thurant castle are within easy reach. The castles on the Rhine are also worth a visit.

Koblenz 25 km
Visit Koblenz with Deutsches Eck (“German corner”) and Ehrenbreitstein fortress. The shopping centre awaits you!

Cochem 23 km
From Oberfell you can take a boat trip to Cochem. From the Moselle you can see the “Reichsburg”, an impressive castle towering above the valley.

Volcano park
The Vulkanpark with its museums and information centres offers an interesting guide to the history of our area. A visit to Maria Laach, a volcanic lake with its abbey, and the slate mine in Genoveva castel in Mayen are an absolute must!
